Este felino posee un aspecto robusto pero a la vez grácil, posee patas largas y tiene una cola corta con una borla negro en el final. Tiene unas orejas puntiagudas las cuales tienen partes de pelaje negro como si le hubieran pasado un pincel. Generalmente este animal se confunde con un gato. Tiene diferentes tipos de pelaje con la finalidad de camuflarse.
